defencelogoUSI has built an enduring affiliation with the United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is the Department of Defense’s center for countering weapons of mass destruction and consists of many programs such as the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) program, International Counterproliferation (ICP) program and Defense Treaty Inspection Readiness program. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosive threats make up DTRA. SMEs execute missions related to countering WMD that involve innovating new technologies, detecting chemical and biological threats and developing new capabilities. They conduct basic science research and development and provide operational support to U.S. warfighters. The U.S. military, Federal government and countries across the world work with DTRA on solving counterproliferation, nonproliferation and WMD reduction issues.

USI has provided dedicated personnel that work and interact with Government and Contractor support personnel during the daily execution of their A&AS support missions. We have been able to effectively meet the wide range of requirements in the DTRA contract which involve engineering, acquisition program management, financial and lifecycle management, specialized analysis and training support. Efforts performed under this contract include fostering chemical and biological agent defeat information exchanges, providing counter WMD capabilities to meet current threats and challenges, researching into weapons effects, radiation hardened microelectronic technology development and increasing international, regional, and domestic Science and Technology (S&T) partnerships.
